It features details of platinum, which are distinctive of Langeais pottery. This pot is an interesting example of how platinum stands out against an unusual terracotta glaze. Founded by Charles de Boissimon in 1839 near Tours, Langeais faience was made using kaolin to enable the intricate shapes it was renowned for. The pot features his mark underneath.
