A joyous late 18th-century French faience plate from Nevers, decorated with two love birds perched on a pedestal, under a garland of flowers and foliage. The lip features a frieze of dots and lines and the edge is delicately shaped. This gorgeous decor was traditionally made to celebrate weddings, showcasing elegant lines and a vibrant use of colour in the classic Nevers style.
