Rouen Faience, Jardiniere Planter with Lambrequins, Late 18th century

£195.00

A late 18th-century French faience jardiniere from Rouen, decorated with a frieze of lambrequins in blue, green and yellow. It features an octagonal shape lifted by three elegant fluted feet and a further decor of a stem with flowers inside it. The handles are missing but they have been sanded back so that the shape of the jardiniere remains harmonious with wonderfully rustic textures. Jardinieres make a fantastic planter to arrange house plants and an attractive addition to a mantelpiece or a windowsill.
