Moroccan Pottery, Fez Blue Floral Dish, 19th century
Decorated in blue and yellow on a soft cream ground, this large late 19th-century Moroccan dish from Fez is finely detailed with floral dots and thin stems, framing four intricate foliated ornaments in reserves arranged around a central motif. Along the rim, a frieze of alternating blue and yellow bands completes the composition. Of generous scale, the dish is raised on a piedouche and pierced with two holes for wall hanging. A rare piece with decorative presence and elegant form.
