French Faience, Large Blue & White Salad Bowl, early 19th century

£195.00

A large early 19th-century French faience salad bowl, decorated in blue and white with foliage, acanthus leaves, scrolls, and criss-cross patterns around a central pattern. Its edge is lightly shaped and the outer body is beautifully fluted. With a loose interpretation of the ornate lambrequins of Rouen faience, it features bold lines in a classic colour combination. Its impressively large size and handmade textures make it a fantastic piece of country pottery. Display it on a shelf as an attractive decorative accent or place it on a table as a statement piece.
