Moroccan Fez Blue & Yellow Jobbana, Midcentury

£400.00

A midcentury Moroccan glazed ceramic Jobbana, or lidded butter jar, from Fez. It is decorated in a traditional palette of teal, blue and yellow on an off-white engobe, with elongated reserves of lattice, cruciform and floral motifs alternating with star-shaped rosettes of yellow dots. Impressive in scale, the jar has a bulbous shape raised on a short foot, with a domed lid finished by a blue knob. The rims of both the body and the lid are highlighted by a blue band.

Marked in Arabic underneath. A vibrant Jobbana with a rich geometric design, in excellent condition.
