Nevers Faience, Polychrome Rosette Salad Bowl, early 19th century

£200.00

An early 19th-century French faience large bowl from Nevers, decorated with a central rosette surrounded by painterly brushstrokes and zig-zag motifs. The edge features a scalloped frieze, finished with a double circular line that neatly frames the composition. Its vibrant palette of green, orange, blue, yellow and manganese gives the piece strong visual presence.

The rim is shaped, and the outer body is delicately fluted, adding texture and lightness. The reverse is fitted with two holes for easy wall hanging. A bright and decorative bowl, with lively geometric ornament and colour, well suited to wall display.
