An 18th-century Dutch Delft plate, decorated in blue on a light blue ground with a chinoiserie landscape of trees and blooming shrubs, enclosed by a fence. The lip features a frieze of rocks surrounded by elongated florals and foliage. The architecture of the fence adds a sense of geometry to the landscape, emphasised by the verticals of the trees and softened by floral patterns and light, painterly brushwork.
Marked underneath for De Porceleyne Byl factory. An elegant Delft plate, unrestored and in very good condition.
